The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10
You’re ready to step up. You want to move forward and go to the next level. You’re ready and willing – then suddenly, you’re derailed. All the plans you have been making have come to a full stop. What you thought you were going to do is not going to happen or it has been sidelined by other pressing issues.
When you are derailed, you feel frustration and maybe even anger that all your plans are now being pushed back. You begin to wonder is this from God or is this from somewhere or someone else?
If your plans involved you stepping out and doing more for God, growing in your faith, or going on with the next step in God’s plan for your life, then it is more than likely that Satan, the thief is responsible. Satan doesn’t want you to succeed and he certainly doesn’t want you to grow yours and others faith. He will do anything to steal, kill and destroy any plans that will prosper you and he will use any means to do so.
God does want you to succeed and have life to the full. The only time God will hinder your plans is if you are on the wrong track and doing something you’re not supposed to be doing. When God derails us, it is for our own good and we see the results of it later. Satan, on the other hand, leaves a mess behind and us in one too. His ultimate aim is to disable you permanently and not give you an alternative route to take.
That’s the difference between God diverting our plans and Satan destroying them. God will give us other options and most of all He will give us hope. Even when Satan does his best to stop you from doing more and going forward, God will give you a hope that this is only a temporary setback and a short stop on your trip to your ultimate destination.
Even though you may feel discouraged when your plans are stopped, God will help you through it. If what you are doing is part of God’s plan, then He will make it happen. You will be able to do more and go even beyond your expectations. A little hiccup in our plans, requires us to be patient and to become more secure in the knowledge that this is not the end. Satan will try and make sure it is the end and if he doesn’t stop you now, he will try again and again in the future.
Our job is to make sure that we are secure in the knowledge that God will look after us no matter. We need to remember to talk to God about our frustrations over being derailed. We need to get a strength and assurance from God that everything will work out in the end. The thief will not steal, kill, and destroy what belongs to God. If your plan belongs to God, then you will have life and you will live it to the fullest.
